Technology and Connectivity
The Acura's entertainment begins with an ELS Studio Premium Audio System equipped with 12 speakers, including a subwoofer. This system is fitted with AcuraLink Subscription Services, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and is HD Radio-ready. The screen for this system is a 12.3-inch HD colour centre display.
The Audi's infotainment system is an 8.6-inch colour touchscreen and comes equipped with 11 speakers. The technology for this system includes voice activation for audio, phone, and navigation. The system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Power and Performance
The MDX features a gasoline 3.5-litre, direct injection SOHC, i-VTEC V6 engine. However, this is in contrast to Audi's 2.0-litre I-4 Hybrid engine. While the 3.0-litre engine is more powerful with 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque, the second hybrid engine with a 3.0-litre V6 doesn't fall far behind at 335 horsepower and offers slightly more torque at 369 lb-ft.
When it comes to fuel economy, the Q7 is narrowly better, with a city economy rating of 12.2 L/100 km compared to the MDX's 12.6 L/100 km. However, the positions are swapped when we look at highway fuel economy, with the Acura SUV's economy being 9.4 L/100 km and the Audi's being 9.5 L/100 km.
Cabin Comfort
The Acura MDX features perforated leather-trimmed seating surfaces, while the Audi Q7 has standard leather upholstery. The seating capacity for both of these vehicles is seven. The seats are achieved through a third row, giving the cars a significantly larger size, which aids in cargo space as well.
Additionally, both SUVs feature front seat heating, while the Acura also offers heated seats for its rear passengers.
